Meet Our Pastor

Apostle Kelvin E. Shouse Senior Pastor of The Covenant Church High Point, North Carolina Bishop Kelvin Shouse serves as the senior Pastor and establishmentarian of The Covenant Church, formerly Calvary Covenant Fellowship Church located in the city of High Point, North Carolina. His main objective as a servant of God is to the faithful preaching of the redemptive Word of God to all mankind. Apostle Shouse desires the deliverance of God’s people from their bondages and from the clutches of their adversaries. 

Apostle Shouse has labored diligently in service to the kingdom of God celebrating thirty-one years of ministry and twenty-three years in the Pastorate. This extensive amount of time in ministry allows him the unique perspective of kingdom ministry. He has served in almost every capacity of the church during his tenure. He is known for his servant spirit and has served the leaders of the church as adjutant. His life exemplifies humility through service. He is an example of the scripture, “the greatest among you will be servant”. He has given his life to instructing and empowering the people of God domestically and internationally. Countless lives have been impacted by his anointed preaching. God has undoubtedly entrusted him with a peculiar anointing, and an accurate prophetic gift. He is a highly sought after and well respected preacher; his messages are relevant and didactic.

Presently, he is the founder of "The Ministry Institute", an institute dedicated to training preachers, leaders and teaching proper protocol in the local church. Apostle Shouse began his academic career at Forsyth Technical Institute, now Forsyth Technical Community College, and obtained an Associate Degree in Business Administration. He has obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. He has a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry both from the University of Southern California Graduate School of Theology. He is a member of the Joint College of Bishops, Cleveland, Ohio and has been for thirteen years. Bishop Shouse follows a long legacy of church leaders, which include his sainted grandmother the late Mother Helen Cloud, who served as Assistant to the founder the late Bishop Broomfield Johnson at the local Winston-Salem church, and as the North Carolina State Mother. Apostle Shouse is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina born to the late William Ralph Shouse and Portia Cloud Shouse Boyd. He is the author of “After the Sifting There is Life”. Apostle Shouse has received many commendations, recognitions, community and civic awards and served as the grass roots campaign manager for the successful election of President Barack Obama. Bishop Shouse is the husband of Lady Cheryl Shouse and the proud father of two children, Brandel Jerrod and Jeremy Rashawn. He is also the proud grandfather of Zion, Noah, and Jayla.
